    When to use it: Use this to tell a shop worker what item you want to find.

    Learn estoy buscando as one piece, then add the item.

    Say it: ehs-TOY boos-KAHN-doh

  2. ¿Dónde puedo encontrar ___?: Justin turns to the clerk with open hands, asking where to find something.

    ¿Dónde puedo encontrar ___?

    Where can I find ___?

    When to use it: Ask where an item is inside a shop.

    Puedo encontrar means I can find; use the whole question as a chunk.

    Say it: DOHN-deh PWEH-doh en-kohn-TRAHR

  3. ¿Cuánto cuesta esto?: Justin holds up a small item toward the clerk, asking its price.

    ¿Cuánto cuesta esto?

    How much is this?

    When to use it: Ask the price of something you are pointing to.

    Esto means this, and cuesta means costs.

    Say it: KWAHN-toh KWEHS-tah EHS-toh

  4. ¿Tienen esto en ___?: Justin shows the clerk the mug and points at a different-colored one on a high shelf.

    ¿Tienen esto en ___?

    Do you have this in ___?

    When to use it: Ask whether the item comes in another color, size, or version.

    Add a color or size after en; tienen addresses the shop staff.

  5. ¿Hay algún descuento?: Justin leans on the counter with a hopeful smile, asking for a discount, while Yako presses his nose to the window.

    ¿Hay algún descuento?

    Is there a discount?

    When to use it: Ask politely whether the shop can lower the price.

    Algún changes from alguno before a masculine singular noun like descuento.

  6. ¿Esto está en oferta?: Justin points at a small basket of items on a table near the door, asking if it is on sale.

    ¿Esto está en oferta?

    Is this on sale?

    When to use it: Ask whether the item has a sale price.

    En oferta means on sale; it does not promise that the price is lower.

    Say it: EHS-toh ehs-TAH en oh-FEHR-tah

  7. Me lo llevo: Justin happily hands the plain mug to the shop clerk to buy it.

    Me lo llevo

    I'll take it

    When to use it: Say this when you decide to buy the item.

    Me lo llevo means I take it with me; learn it as one decision phrase.
