These six lines help you manage an appointment without guessing. You’ll ask about the schedule, the length, and the things you need.

Notice how the frame changes when you put a real day or time into it.

    Does ___ work for you?

    When to use it: Ask whether a suggested day or time works for the other person.

    Fill the frame with a real day or time, such as el jueves or a las nueve.

    Say it: Queda is KEH-dah, with stress on the first syllable.

    I can’t do ___

    When to use it: Say this when a particular appointment time is not possible for you.

    Use a las before a clock time, then add the time you cannot do.

    Say it: Disponible sounds like dee-spoh-NEE-bleh, with stress on nee.

    ¿Cuánto va a durar la cita?

    How long will it take?

    When to use it: Ask how much time an appointment is expected to take.

    Va a durar means will last; cita means appointment.

    Say it: Durar has stress on the final syllable: doo-RAHR.

    What should I bring?

    When to use it: Ask which item or document you need to bring.

    Tengo que means I have to, and llevar means to bring or carry.
