Zhōumò jiāoyóu, dàjiā wán de kāixīn.

When to use: Use when someone faces a test, interview, or important event; polite version is 祝您好运。

You have an exam tomorrow — good luck!

面试前让朋友说：祝你好运。

Miànshì qián ràng péngyǒu shuō: zhù nǐ hǎo yùn.

Meaning: Safe travels.

When to use: A common goodbye for someone who is traveling by car, train, or plane.

Tip: Don’t mix up with casual see-you phrases; 一路平安 specifically wishes safe travel.

你明早开车回家，祝你一路平安。

Nǐ míngzǎo kāichē huí jiā, zhù nǐ yílù píng’ān.

You drive home tomorrow morning — safe travels.

朋友出差时，我们常说：一路平安。

Péngyǒu chūchāi shí, wǒmen cháng shuō: yílù píng’ān.

When a friend travels for work, we often say: safe travels.

Zhù nǐ jiàqī yúkuài, fàngsōng yíxià!

When to use: A simple farewell when you expect to meet again in the future.

When to use: A friendly, casual farewell. If you’ll meet very soon the same day, 待会儿见 is also common.

Tip: Don’t use 回头见 for long-term goodbyes; it feels casual and implies meeting again fairly soon.

我去买东西，回头见！

Wǒ qù mǎi dōngxi, huítóu jiàn!

I'm going to buy something — see you soon!

朋友出门了，我说：回头见。
