When to use: Use this to tell someone to continue their effort — for studying, running, or any long task.

Tip: Beginners sometimes say only 加油 — that's okay, but 继续加油 emphasizes ‘keep going’.

Pǎobù kuài dào yí bàn le, jìxù jiāyóu.

When to use: Say this when someone doubts themselves or faces a challenge — quick and motivating.

Tip: Learners sometimes drop 的 (Nǐ kěyǐ) — native speakers often include 的 for a friendly emphasis.

别紧张,考试前深呼吸。你可以的。

Bié jǐnzhāng, kǎoshì qián shēn hūxī. Nǐ kěyǐ de.

Don’t be nervous — deep breaths before the exam. You can do it.
这道题有点难,但你可以的,试试看。

Zhè dào tí yǒu diǎn nán, dàn nǐ kěyǐ de, shì shìkàn.

Bié fàngqì.

Meaning: Don't give up.

When to use: Use when someone feels like quitting — a direct push to keep trying.

Tip: Some learners say 不要放弃 for a slightly more formal sound; 别放弃 is natural and common in speech.

项目遇到困难,别放弃,我们一起想办法。

Xiàngmù yù dào kùnnan, bié fàngqì, wǒmen yìqǐ xiǎng bànfǎ.

The project hit problems — don't give up; let's find a solution together.

When to use: Praise someone's result or effort — brief and positive after a task or attempt.

孩子写完作业了,老师说做得好。

Háizi xiě wán zuòyè le, lǎoshī shuō zuò de hǎo.

Nǐ zuò de hěn hǎo.

You're doing well.

Meaning: You're doing well.

When to use: Use to encourage ongoing effort — helpful for studying, practice, or work in progress.
