Ready to give someone a little boost in Chinese? This short lesson focuses on friendly encouragement you can use with classmates, friends, or coworkers. Have fun — encouragement is contagious!
Level A2: In this lesson you'll practice three supportive phrases: “我们一起___吧。” (Wǒmen yìqǐ ___ ba.), “谁都会犯错的。” (Shéi dōu huì fàncuò de.), and “你已经尽力了。” (Nǐ yǐjīng jìnlì le.). We'll hear them, repeat them, and use them in a short conversation so you can encourage people naturally (CEFR-aligned).
After this lesson you'll be able to:
Recognize and say three common encouragement phrases in everyday situations.
Use “我们一起___吧。” (Wǒmen yìqǐ ___ ba.) to offer to do something together.
Comfort someone with “谁都会犯错的。” (Shéi dōu huì fàncuò de.) and acknowledge effort with “你已经尽力了。” (Nǐ yǐjīng jìnlì le.).

1. Reading + Listening Practice
Hear core phrases, repeat aloud.
我们一起___吧。
Wǒmen yìqǐ ___ ba.
Let's ___ together.
Meaning: Let's ___ together.
When to use: Use to suggest doing something together to help or support someone — replace ___ with a verb like “试试” (try), “复习” (review), or “练习” (practice).
Tip: Forgetting the particle “吧” — without it the sentence can sound less like a friendly suggestion and more like a command.
我们一起试试吧。
Wǒmen yìqǐ shìshi ba.
Let's try it together.
这次没关系,我们我们一起复习吧。
Zhè cì méi guānxi, wǒmen yìqǐ fùxí ba.
It's okay this time; let's review together.
谁都会犯错的
Shéi dōu huì fàncuò de.
Everyone makes mistakes.
Meaning: Everyone makes mistakes.
When to use: Say this gently after someone makes a mistake to normalize the experience and reduce pressure.
别担心,谁都会犯错的。
Bié dānxīn, shéi dōu huì fàncuò de.
Don't worry, everyone makes mistakes.
考试没过也没关系,谁都会犯错的。
Kǎoshì méi guò yě méi guānxi, shéi dōu huì fàncuò de.
It's okay if you didn’t pass the test; everyone makes mistakes.
你已经尽力了
Nǐ yǐjīng jìnlì le.
You did your best.
Meaning: You did your best.
When to use: Use to acknowledge effort when someone is disappointed or tired — it’s a calming, validating phrase.
Tip: Saying only “你很努力” (you worked hard) can feel less personal — 你已经尽力了 emphasizes the moment and comfort.
