Free Simplified Chinese lessons with guided practice, audio, and speaking support.

Ready to chat about family? In this short lesson we'll focus on everyday questions and answers about brothers, sisters, who you live with, and how many people are in your household. Have fun—think of this as friendly practice for real-life small talk.

Level A2: This lesson helps you ask and answer simple questions about family—siblings (你有兄弟姐妹吗?), living arrangements (你跟谁一起住?), marital status and children, and family size (你家有几口人?). You'll listen, repeat, and practice short quizzes to lock in these useful phrases. It's CEFR-aligned and designed to feel like a quick conversation with a neighbor.

After this lesson you'll be able to:

  • Ask and answer “Do you have siblings?” (你有兄弟姐妹吗?) and state numbers of brothers/sisters.
  • Say you are an only child (我是独生子女。) and identify people: “He/She is my …” (他/她是我的___。).
  • Ask who someone lives with (你跟谁一起住?) and say who you live with (我和我的___住在一起。).
  • Use family-size phrases like “你家有几口人?” and say marital/children status (我结婚了。/你有孩子吗?).
