Free Simplified Chinese lessons with guided practice, audio, and speaking support.

Quick and practical — today we focus on short, natural yes/no replies you’ll actually hear on the street. Listen, repeat, then try them out in tiny conversations.

Level A1: In this short lesson you'll practice common short answers in mainland Mandarin: simple yes/no replies, polite acceptances and declines, casual agreement, and soft negatives. These are survival phrases for asking and answering basic questions and accepting or refusing offers. CEFR-aligned, friendly, and very usable.

After this lesson you'll be able to:

  • Recognize and say short affirmative replies like 对 (Duì) and 好的,谢谢 (Hǎo de, xièxie).
  • Politely accept or decline offers with 好的,谢谢 (Hǎo de, xièxie) and 不用了,谢谢 (Bú yòng le, xièxie).
  • Answer questions about identity or possession with 对,我是 (Duì, wǒ shì) / 不,我不是 (Bù, wǒ bú shì) and 不,没有 (Bù, méi yǒu).
  • Practice Level A1 conversational responses in short dialogues.
