Welcome — a quick friendly lesson on permission. We'll listen, repeat, and practice short phrases you can use right away.

Level A1: In this lesson you'll learn simple, polite ways to ask for permission and to say yes or no. We'll practice questions like 我想___,需要先问一下吗? (wǒ xiǎng ___, xūyào xiān wèn yíxià ma?) and quick responses such as 可以。 (kěyǐ.) and 不可以。 (bù kěyǐ.). This CEFR-aligned mini-lesson focuses on everyday permission language — ask who to talk to, give permission, or politely stop someone.

After this lesson you'll be able to:

  • Learn to ask if you need permission: 我想___,需要先问一下吗? (wǒ xiǎng ___, xūyào xiān wèn yíxià ma?)
  • Practice asking who can give permission: 我可以问谁? (wǒ kěyǐ wèn shéi?)
  • Be able to give and refuse permission with short phrases like 可以。 (kěyǐ.) and 不可以。 (bù kěyǐ.)
  • Use polite requests: 请不要___。 (qǐng bú yào ___.) and friendly permission: 当然可以。 (dāngrán kěyǐ.)
