Free Simplified Chinese lessons with guided practice, audio, and speaking support.

Nice work coming to Lesson 70 — you're building a toolbox of phrases about abilities. Practice these short frames out loud and you'll sound more confident talking about skills and help.

Level A2: In this lesson you'll practice common ways to say what you can do, what you can't do, and whether you need help. We'll focus on short, natural frames like 我会___。 (Wǒ huì ___.) and 没人帮忙,我做不了。 (Méi rén bāngmáng, wǒ zuò bù liǎo.). Listen, repeat, and use them in a quick conversation so they stick.

After this lesson you'll be able to:

  • Use basic frames to say I can, I can a little, and I can’t: e.g. 我会___。 (Wǒ huì ___.) / 我不会___。 (Wǒ bú huì ___.).
  • Ask and answer about independent ability: 你能自己___吗? (Nǐ néng zìjǐ ___ ma?) and 我能自己做。 (Wǒ néng zìjǐ zuò.).
  • Describe strengths and difficulties: 我擅长___。 (Wǒ shàncháng ___.) / 对我来说,___很难。 (Duì wǒ lái shuō, ___ hěn nán.).
  • Level A2: start combining these phrases naturally in short conversations.
