Understood, found, finished in German
Priya is wrapping up a meeting at the loft when Jonas cannot find his key card.
It is under a laptop, not in the bakery box. She needs lines for understood, found, and done.
By the end, you'll mark a result: you got it, you found it, or the job is finished.
Anton will claim a find of his own. It is only a stamp.
By the end of this lesson
Say you understood, found, or finished something.
- Ich hab's verstanden.I've got it.
- Ich habe den Schlüssel gefunden.I found the key card.
- Ich bin fertig.I'm done.
- Ich hab's geschafft.I got it done.
- Hast du es gefunden?Did you find it?
- Das ist erledigt. That's taken care of.
Scene — the loft desks
The co-working loft by the canal is messy after a long meeting. Laptops sit open on the long desks.
Jonas holds a coffee mug and looks at his key ring. His key card is missing from it.
Anton is not at a desk. He will turn up later at the bakery with a stamp.

Learn — understood, found, finished
Six lines cover a result you have now: you understood, you found something, or you finished.
These are not long past stories. They mark what is done.

Ich hab's verstanden.
I've got it.
When to use it: Say this when you now understand a task or an explanation.
The verb stays second: Ich hab's verstanden, for a result you have now.

Ich habe den Schlüssel gefunden.
I found the key card.
When to use it: Say this after you find a missing key card at work or at home.
die Schlüsselkarte names the thing you found; keep die with this feminine noun.
Say it: Schlüsselkarte starts with sch, like the sh in ship.

Ich bin fertig.
I'm done.
When to use it: Say this when you have finished a task and can stop.
Use bin here, not habe; being done is a state you are in.
Say it: Fertig puts the stress on the first syllable.

Ich hab's geschafft.
I got it done.
When to use it: Say this when you managed to finish a hard task.
hab's stands for habe es; the line marks a result you have now.

Hast du es gefunden?
Did you find it?
When to use it: Ask a friend or teammate if they found the missing thing.
du is for a friend or teammate; Sie would sound too distant here.

Das ist erledigt.
That's taken care of.
When to use it: Say this when a job is done and no one needs to continue.
This marks a result now, not a long story about the past.
