Student explaining ideas in German: Simple explanations for B1 learners.

Goal: Short frames to explain results, problems and similarities

Free German lessons with guided practice, audio, and speaking support.

Welcome! In this short B1 lesson we'll focus on useful mini-frames you can use to explain an idea simply. Practice hearing them, try a few quick exercises, then say them out loud.

Level B1: This lesson gives you twelve German phrases for giving simple explanations — saying why, restating, listing reasons, and pointing out differences. We'll practice frames like "Deshalb ___.", "Das Problem ist, dass ___.", and "Einfach gesagt: ___." — all CEFR-aligned and ready for conversations where you need to explain something clearly.

After this lesson you'll be able to:

  • Recognize and use common B1 phrases for short explanations and comparisons.
  • Form clear short answers, list simple reasons, and restate ideas in natural spoken German.
  • Practice saying each phrase aloud so you can use them in real conversations.
