Ready to talk about what really grabs your attention? This short lesson helps you say what you like, ask others, and explain why — all in natural German. Have fun and try saying the lines out loud.

Level B1: In this lesson you’ll practice natural ways to say what you’re interested in (Ich interessiere mich für ...), ask about current interests (Wofür interessierst du dich im Moment so?), explain why (Ich mag ..., weil ...), and invite more conversation (Wir sollten mehr über ... reden). This CEFR-aligned set is practical for real chats about hobbies, studies, and curiosities — perfect for Lesson 72 on interests.

After this lesson you'll be able to:

  • Practice B1-level frames to say and ask about interests and hobbies.
  • Learn phrases to explain why something matters to you and how much time you spend on it.
  • Be able to invite someone to talk more about a shared interest.
Two friends compare current interests—perfect scene for practicing B1 German interest phrases.

Meaning: I'm interested in ___.
