Traditional Chinese - Future Plans

Lesson 68 of 152

A learner checks a calendar and travel notes while studying Traditional Chinese for Taiwan Mandarin, focusing on future plans. The scene feels bright and practical, with weekend ideas and personal goals on the desk.

Goal: Talk about what you’ll probably do, might do, or haven’t quite decided yet.

Free traditional Chinese lessons with Taiwan Mandarin audio and speaking practice.

Plans can be clear, fuzzy, or somewhere in between. In this lesson, you’ll learn how to sound natural when your future is more “maybe” than “definitely.”

Level B1: Today you’ll practice flexible phrases for future plans, hopes, conditions, and uncertainty. You’ll say things like “I’m planning to…,” “It depends on…,” and “If everything goes well…”—very handy for real conversations in Taiwan Mandarin. Tiny Yak Yacker forecast: 70% chance of plans, 30% chance of changing them.

After this lesson you'll be able to:

  • State a plan with 我打算___ (Wǒ dǎsuàn ___) and 我計畫要___ (Wǒ jìhuà yào ___).
  • Talk about uncertain plans with 我在考慮___ (Wǒ zài kǎolǜ ___), 我還沒決定 (Wǒ hái méi juédìng), and 我還不確定要做什麼 (Wǒ hái bù quèdìng yào zuò shénme).
  • Use B1-style condition phrases like 要看___ (Yào kàn ___) and 如果一切順利,我就會___ (Rúguǒ yīqiè shùnlì, wǒ jiù huì ___).
  • Ask someone about future plans with 你___打算做什麼? (Nǐ ___ dǎsuàn zuò shénme?)
Two friends in a Taiwan café look at their phones and discuss future plans in Taiwan Mandarin with Traditional Chinese captions. The warm setting suggests casual planning for the weekend.
