Traditional Chinese - Sharing Opinions

Lesson 28 of 152

A lively café scene in Taiwan with two friends discussing choices, representing a Traditional Chinese Taiwan Mandarin lesson about sharing opinions.

Goal: Say what you think—without sounding too blunt.

Free traditional Chinese lessons with Taiwan Mandarin audio and speaking practice.

Welcome back! In this lesson, you’ll practice the useful art of having an opinion in Mandarin… politely, of course.

Today’s phrases help you ask what someone thinks, agree, disagree gently, and say “I’d rather…” like a real conversation partner in Taiwan.

Level B1: you’ll build a flexible opinion toolkit for everyday conversations in Taiwan Mandarin. We’ll practice asking 你覺得 ___ 怎麼樣? (Nǐ juéde ___ zěnmeyàng?), softening ideas with 我想 ___ 還可以吧 (Wǒ xiǎng ___ hái kěyǐ ba), and disagreeing politely with 我不太確定我能不能同意 (Wǒ bú tài quèdìng wǒ néng bù néng tóngyì). By the end, you’ll be able to sound thoughtful—not like a debate robot. Yak responsibly.

After this lesson you'll be able to:

  • Ask for someone’s opinion with 你覺得 ___ 怎麼樣? (Nǐ juéde ___ zěnmeyàng?) and 你對 ___ 有什麼看法? (Nǐ duì ___ yǒu shénme kànfǎ?).
  • State your own view using 我覺得 ___ 是個好主意 (Wǒ juéde ___ shì ge hǎo zhǔyì) and 我是覺得,___ (Wǒ shì juéde, ___).
  • Agree, soften, or disagree politely with phrases like 我同意你的看法 (wǒ tóngyì nǐ de kànfǎ) and 我懂你的意思,不過 ___ (Wǒ dǒng nǐ de yìsi, búguò ___).
  • At B1, connect opinions and preferences more naturally in short conversations.
