Traditional Chinese - Weekend Talk

Lesson 133 of 152

A cozy Taiwan café scene with friends chatting about weekend plans, with Traditional Chinese text for Taiwan Mandarin weekend talk visible on a menu board.

Goal: Chat about dinner, shows, weather, and what you caught up on.

Free traditional Chinese lessons with Taiwan Mandarin audio and speaking practice.

Weekend stories are perfect small talk: not too serious, but still full of real life. This lesson helps you sound natural when someone asks, “So, how was your weekend?”

Level A2: You’ll practice friendly weekend phrases for saying where you had dinner, what you watched at home, and what you did because the weather was nice. You’ll also ask about someone’s usual weekend routine, give a quick opinion, and say you caught up on something. Very useful for Monday chats—Yak Yacker approved.

After this lesson you'll be able to:

  • Ask about weekend routines with 你週末通常都做什麼? (Nǐ zhōumò tōngcháng dōu zuò shénme?)
  • Describe simple weekend activities like eating dinner out or watching something at home.
  • Link good weather to an activity using 天氣不錯,所以我們___。 (Tiānqì búcuò, suǒyǐ wǒmen ___.)
  • Give a short casual opinion with 還滿___的。 (Hái mǎn ___ de.)
  • Say you used the weekend to catch up on something with 我趁週末補了___。 (Wǒ chèn zhōumò bǔ le ___.)
