Free traditional Chinese lessons with Taiwan Mandarin audio and speaking practice.

Weekends are where small talk gets cozy. In this lesson, you’ll learn how to ask, answer, and react naturally when friends talk about plans, relaxing, or doing… not much.

Level A2: This lesson helps you talk about weekends in a friendly Taiwan Mandarin way. You’ll practice asking 你週末做了什麼? (Nǐ zhōumò zuòle shénme?) and 你這週末有安排嗎? (Nǐ zhè zhōumò yǒu ānpái ma?), then answer with plans like 我這週末要去___。 (Wǒ zhè zhōumò yào qù ___.) or relaxed replies like 沒做什麼。 (Méi zuò shénme.) A very useful lesson for Monday chats and Friday “so, any plans?” moments.

After this lesson you'll be able to:

  • Ask about someone’s past weekend with 你週末做了什麼? (Nǐ zhōumò zuòle shénme?) and 你週末有做什麼特別的事嗎? (Nǐ zhōumò yǒu zuò shénme tèbié de shì ma?)
  • Ask about upcoming plans with 你這週末有安排嗎? (Nǐ zhè zhōumò yǒu ānpái ma?) and 週末有什麼計畫嗎? (Zhōumò yǒu shénme jìhuà ma?)
  • Say what you did or will do using 我星期六去了___。 (Wǒ xīngqíliù qùle ___.) and 我這週末要去___。 (Wǒ zhè zhōumò yào qù ___.)
  • React warmly with 聽起來很好玩。 (Tīng qǐlái hěn hǎowán.) and describe a low-key weekend with 我就放鬆一下。 (Wǒ jiù fàngsōng yíxià.)
