Free traditional Chinese lessons with Taiwan Mandarin audio and speaking practice.

Doctor visits can feel fast, especially in another language. Today we’ll slow things down and give you calm, useful phrases for describing pain, treatments, side effects, and what to do next.

Level B1: In this lesson, you’ll practice telling a doctor how strong your pain is, what you already tried, how symptoms affect your daily life, and whether you need tests or a follow-up visit. You’ll also learn how to ask about restrictions, side effects, and whether something is contagious. Tiny Yak Yacker medical tip: sounding clear can be just as helpful as sounding fancy.

After this lesson you'll be able to:

  • Rate pain clearly on a 1–10 scale in a Taiwan medical setting.
  • Explain what treatment you tried and whether it helped.
  • Describe changes in symptoms and how they affect daily life.
  • Ask practical doctor-visit questions about tests, restrictions, side effects, contagiousness, and follow-up timing.
