Level A2: Lesson 97 — In this lesson you'll practice three polite phrases to check understanding: どの部分が分かりにくいですか。 (Dono bubun ga wakarinikui desu ka.), 何か分からないところはありますか。 (Nanika wakaranai tokoro wa arimasu ka.), and これで質問の答えになっていますか。 (Kore de shitsumon no kotae ni natte imasu ka.). You'll hear them in a short conversation, try quizzes, and say them aloud to build social glue in polite Japanese (CEFR-aligned).

Meaning: What part is not clear?
When to use: Use this to invite the listener to point to a specific part of your explanation that they didn't follow. It's gentle and asks for a location or step rather than a simple yes/no.
Tip: Avoid asking simply '分かりますか？' which can come off as too blunt; this phrase focuses on parts.
プレゼンの途中で、先生が聞きました。「どの部分が分かりにくいですか。」

When to use: Use this to open the floor after explaining: it politely invites any remaining unclear points without pressuring the listener.

Setsumei no owari ni kōshi ga iimashita. ‚Nanika wakaranai tokoro wa arimasu ka.‘
At the end of the explanation, the instructor said, 'Is there anything you don't understand?'

When to use: After you give an answer or extra explanation, use this to confirm the person’s question was addressed.
