When to use: サイズや色の交換を聞く時に使います。たとえば、試着して合わなかったときに店員さんに聞きます。

Tip: 「返金できますか？」と聞くと違いが出ます。交換したいなら「交換できますか？」を使いましょう。

これ、サイズが合わなかったので交換できますか？

Kore, saizu ga awanakatta node kōkan dekimasu ka?

This didn't fit — can I exchange it?

When to use: 返品できる期限やレシートの必要性など、ルールを聞く時に使います。

オンラインで買ったものの返品の条件を教えてください。

Onrain de katta mono no henpin no jōken o oshiete kudasai.

サイズが合いません。

Saizu ga aimasen.

It doesn't fit.

Meaning: It doesn't fit.

When to use: 服や靴などのサイズが合わない時に使います。

Tip: 「サイズが違います」と言うと意味は通じますが、自然な言い方は「サイズが合いません」です。

試着したのですが、サイズが合いません。

Shichaku shita no desu ga, saizu ga aimasen.

I tried it on, but it doesn't fit.
このブーツはサイズが合いません。別のサイズはありますか？

Kono būtsu wa saizu ga aimasen. Betsu no saizu wa arimasu ka?

These boots don't fit — do you have another size?

ちょっと高すぎます。

Chotto takasugimasu.

It's too expensive.

Meaning: It's too expensive.

When to use: 「ちょっと」を入れると、直接すぎずやわらかく聞こえます。

Tip: ただ「高い」と言うと強く聞こえることがあるので、「ちょっと高すぎます」を使うとやわらかいです。

すみません、これちょっと高すぎます。

Sumimasen, kore chotto takasugimasu.

Excuse me, this is a bit too expensive.
予算より高いので、ちょっと高すぎますね。

Yosan yori takai node, chotto takasugimasu ne.

It's above my budget — it's a bit too expensive.

Meaning: I'm just browsing, thanks.

When to use: 店員さんの手伝いを丁寧に断る時に使います。より自然に「大丈夫です、見ているだけです」とも言えます。

見ているだけです。ありがとうございます。

Mite iru dake desu. Arigatō gozaimasu.

I'm just looking, thank you.
今は見ているだけです。声をかけてくれてありがとう。

Ima wa mite iru dake desu. Koe o kakete kurete arigatō.

When to use: 在庫があるか、まだ売っているかを聞く時に使います。

When to use: 表示価格が正しいか確認する時の自然な言い方です。

棚のタグとレジの金額が違います。これはこの値段で合っていますか？

When to use: 店に商品を一時的に取っておいてもらう時に使います。「これを」の「を」は、取り置きする物を示します。
