Free French lessons with guided practice, audio, and speaking support.

Welcome! In this short lesson we'll focus on useful French phrases for talking about food—what you love, what you can't eat, and how to ask about options. Keep it relaxed: listen, repeat, and try the mini-dialogue.

Level A2: Lesson 63 practices practical phrases for food preferences and dietary restrictions. You'll learn how to ask if a restaurant has a vegetarian or gluten-free option, say what you can and can't eat, ask about allergies, and politely refuse items. This CEFR-aligned lesson mixes listening, short drills, and speaking prompts so you can use these lines in real life.

After this lesson you'll be able to:

  • Level A2: Ask about dietary options and explain what you can or cannot eat.
  • Say polite refusals and express likes (J'adore...) with confidence.
  • Ask and answer about allergies and general food preferences.
