Welcome back! Today we’re putting your “can-do” energy into Mandarin—with a friendly safety net for the things you can’t quite do yet.
In real life, ability is rarely just yes or no. Sometimes it’s “let me try,” sometimes it’s “I need more practice,” and sometimes it’s “please stand nearby while I attempt this.” Very human. Very useful.
Level A2: In this lesson, you’ll practice phrases for talking about skills, confidence, practice, and trying something new. You’ll learn how to say you’re still learning, haven’t tried something before, feel comfortable with something, or can do it with help. These are perfect for classes, hobbies, travel, and everyday life in Taiwan.
After this lesson you'll be able to:
Say that you need more practice with a skill or activity.
Explain that you haven’t learned or tried something yet.
Express confidence, hesitation, or readiness about an ability.
Use A2-friendly phrases to ask for a chance to try or say you can do something with help.
Ready? Let's go!
When you tap play on phrases, we track your progress through this lesson.
