Free traditional Chinese lessons with Taiwan Mandarin audio and speaking practice.

Welcome to Lesson 11! Today we’re giving your Mandarin a very useful superpower: asking for stuff without just pointing and smiling.

Level A1: you’ll practice friendly, practical phrases like 我想要 ___。 (Wǒ xiǎng yào ___.) for “I want / I would like,” 我需要 ___。 (Wǒ xūyào ___.) for “I need,” and 可以給我 ___ 嗎? (Kěyǐ gěi wǒ ___ ma?) for “Can I have ___?” These are perfect for cafés, shops, night markets, and travel moments in Taiwan. Yak Yacker tip: wanting bubble tea counts as serious language motivation.
