A small cheat code: 醬 (jiàng) is usually a thick sauce/paste (think “spreadable or spoonable”). 油 (yóu) is an oil (drippy, glossy, dangerous on white shirts). 粉 (fěn) is powder (sprinkle life). Once you spot the ending, you can guess the vibe even if the word is new.
