Your living room is where you relax, hang out, and pretend your cable management is “minimalist design.” Let us give you the English words for everything in that space.

Calling it a lounge sounds fancy. Calling it a family room sounds wholesome. Calling it a living room is honest: you live there. Sometimes horizontally.

Decorative pillows are a trap. If guests need a map to find the actual sofa, you own too many. Keep two or three and let your living room be for living.
